This website is operated by Ruby Alba. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Ruby Alba.
By visiting our website, placing an order or purchasing something from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and any other policies displayed on our website.
Please read these Terms carefully before using our website. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use our website or place an order with us.

2. Use of Our Website
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the website.
You must not:
- use our website for fraudulent or unlawful activity
- attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the website
- copy, reproduce or exploit any part of the website without our permission
- submit false, misleading or inaccurate information when placing an order
We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders or restrict access to our website where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, fraud or a breach of these Terms.
3. Our Products
We sell roasted coffee and related products. Product descriptions, tasting notes, roast profiles, brew recommendations and images are provided to help customers make informed choices.
Coffee is a natural product, and flavour can vary slightly depending on factors such as harvest, origin, roast development, grind, brewing method, water quality and equipment.
We make every effort to display product information accurately. However, tasting notes are intended as guidance and should not be treated as a guarantee of exact flavour.
4. Coffee Freshness and Storage
Our coffee should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, moisture and strong odours. Once opened, coffee should be resealed properly and consumed within a reasonable period for best flavour.
We are not responsible for deterioration in quality caused by incorrect storage after delivery.
5. Ordering
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products.
After placing an order, you should receive an order confirmation email. This confirms that we have received your order, but it does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
A contract between you and Ruby Alba is formed when we accept your order and dispatch the products.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if:
- a product is unavailable
- there is an error in the price or product information
- payment is not authorised
- we suspect fraud or misuse
- delivery cannot be completed to the address provided
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid.
6. Pricing and Payment
All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
Delivery charges, if applicable, will be shown during checkout before you place your order.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.
Payment must be made at the time of placing your order using one of the payment methods available at checkout.
7. Delivery
We will deliver your order to the address provided at checkout. It is your responsibility to ensure that all delivery information is accurate and complete.
Estimated delivery times are provided as guidance only. We will do our best to dispatch and deliver orders promptly, but delays may occur due to courier issues, busy periods, weather, operational disruption or events outside our control.
Ownership of the products passes to you once full payment has been received. Risk in the products passes to you once the order has been delivered to the address provided.
UK distance selling rules require businesses to provide delivery arrangements, costs and timescales clearly before the customer places an order.
8. Failed or Incorrect Delivery
If an order cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address, missed delivery, refusal of delivery or failure to collect from a courier collection point, we may not be able to refund delivery costs.
If the order is returned to us, we may offer to resend it, subject to an additional delivery charge.
As coffee is a fresh food product, we may not be able to refund or resend orders where failed delivery is caused by incorrect or incomplete customer information.
9. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
As coffee is a fresh food product, our returns policy is designed to protect product quality, hygiene and customer safety.
If you change your mind, you may return unopened coffee within 14 days of delivery, provided it is sealed, unused, in its original packaging and in a resaleable condition.
Opened coffee cannot be returned unless it is faulty, damaged or incorrect.
If your order arrives damaged, you receive the wrong item, or there is an issue with the product, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photographs where relevant.
Your statutory rights are not affected. UK consumer law requires goods to be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
Full details are available in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
10. Flavour Preference
Coffee is personal, and each roast has its own character.
We cannot offer refunds or exchanges simply because a coffee is not to your personal taste, provided the product matches its description and has arrived in good condition.
If you are unsure which coffee to choose, we recommend starting with a smaller bag before ordering a larger size.
11. Availability
All products are subject to availability. We may limit quantities, discontinue products or update product information at any time.
Limited-edition coffees may only be available for a short period and may not return once sold out.
We do not guarantee that any product will remain available.
12. Discount Codes and Promotions
Discount codes, offers and promotions may be subject to additional terms, including expiry dates, minimum spend requirements, product exclusions or single-use restrictions.
Discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively to orders that have already been placed.
We reserve the right to amend, suspend or withdraw promotions at any time.
13. Subscriptions
If Ruby Alba offers coffee subscriptions, the following terms apply.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorise us to take recurring payments at the frequency shown at checkout. Subscription details, billing frequency, price and cancellation options will be provided before you subscribe.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in line with the instructions provided on our website or in your account area.
Cancellation requests must be made before the next payment is processed. Once a subscription order has been processed or dispatched, it may not be possible to cancel that order.
Remove this section if the store will not offer subscriptions at launch.
14. Gift Cards
If Ruby Alba offers gift cards, they may only be used on our online store and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Gift cards are non-refundable unless required by law.
We are not responsible for lost, stolen or misused gift cards.
Remove this section if the store will not offer gift cards.
15. Account Information

You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account or placing an order.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
17. Third-Party Services
Our store may use third-party services, including Shopify, payment providers, delivery partners, analytics tools and marketing platforms.
We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of third-party websites or services that we do not control.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
18. Website Accuracy and Availability
We aim to keep our website accurate, secure and available, but we do not guarantee that it will always be error-free, uninterrupted or free from technical issues.
We may update, suspend or withdraw parts of the website at any time.
19. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or breach of your statutory rights.
Subject to this, we are not liable for:
- indirect or consequential losses
- loss of profit, revenue or business
- loss caused by misuse of our products
- loss caused by incorrect storage or handling after delivery
- delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control
Our total liability for any order will not exceed the amount paid by you for that order, except where the law requires otherwise.
20. Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delays or failure to meet our obligations where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control.
This may include courier disruption, strikes, severe weather, supply chain issues, technical failures, accidents, government restrictions or other events beyond our control.
21. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. We collect and use personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use and protect your data.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
Changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted unless required by law.
23. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, unless another part of the UK applies to your business location.
If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the laws of the part of the UK where you live.
